Formed in 2004, AFA Planning Consultants are one of the UK’s largest independent planning consultancies. With over 15 senior planning consultants and regional operating centres throughout the UK, AFA Planning Consultants specialise in obtaining planning permission for clients in: residential, commercial and agricultural sectors.
Only AFA Planning Consultants offer a unique partnership where by Senior Town Planners, who currently work within local Councils work on your case. We ensure clear and consistent communication through out the process.
Still family owned and managed, you will always find our staff and consultants friendly and approachable, right from your initial enquiry through to the conclusion of your case. We never bamboozle clients with planning jargon and explain clearly the process from beginning to end.
All of our officers have full professional qualifications and are also chartered town planners, i.e. members of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
We are always up front in our recommendations and give honest advice based on our initial consultation or appraisal. We always provide clients with clear quotations of fees before starting any work and strive to fulfil a positive outcome for all our clients.

At AFA Planning Consultants, we do not use generative AI in any aspect of our reports. We are acutely aware of the pitfalls and limitations of AI’s reliability, especially when it comes to fabricating ‘facts’. Unfortunately, most AI models do not understand the concept of information being outdated or region-specific (citing US policy rather than UK, etc), leading to a messy hybrid of planning procedures.
Not only that, if the individuals reviewing the content catch wind of AI use, many will discredit the information presented, even if it contains valid points. This is why we stick to having senior planning experts write our reports and all content.
